About Madrid

Madrid is the capital of Spain, and is home to the Spanish Royal family as well as the Spanish Government. It is a modern metropolitan city and an economical and industrial center of Spain, and, with its population of nearly 3,5 million people, is also the biggest city in Spain.
It is located in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula and is surrounded by mountains and natural parks. Although it is located in the centre of the country, it has traditionally been the hub between different areas of Spain and is therefore connected to all major Spanish cities by train, road or air.
The weather in Madrid varies a lot depending on the season, from hot and dry in the summer, with temperature of approx. 29C-¦ / 85F-¦, to cold (4C-¦ / 39F-¦) and with some rain in the winter.

Estación Madrid – Puerta de Atocha (Madrid Central Railway Station) offers viable train connections (including high speed trains) to the most important cities in Spain.

UEMS Credits

AMP Europe 2024 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®)
with 12.5 UEMS EACCME credits.

Find out more about UEMS EACCME accreditation: https://www.uems.eu/areas-of-expertise/cme-cpd/eaccme

EACCME credits recognition for USA attendees

The UEMS-EACCME® has had an agreement of mutual recognition of credits with the American Medical Association (AMA) for Live Educational Events and for E-Learning Materials since the year 2000. The agreement was renewed in 2022 for another 4 years.

The issue of territoriality is very important; both organizations are fully responsible for the activities taking place or organized within their remit. The UEMS-EACCME® is the central body for accrediting events in Europe and the AMA is the central body for recognition of CME credits in the USA.

E-learning activities need to be certified for credit by the process in place where the CME provider is based, i.e. AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for U.S. CME providers and ECMEC® credit for organizations in countries that are represented by the UEMS.
